WebCT

What is WebCT?
WebCT is a piece of software that allows lecture notes, or even whole courses, to be accessible to students via the World Wide Web.

What can I access through WebCT?
Logging into WebCT will give you access to the following resources:

  • Student Homepages used to introduce students to each other
  • Chat Rooms & Private Email chat for synchronous discussion about course content
  • Image Archives searchable and linkable to complement content
  • Assessment Tools quiz tools, surveys, assignment dropbox
  • Course Content pages main pages of content for a course, and can include web-links
  • Student Presentations for individual and/or group presentations
  • Glossary, Index & Annotation contents can be linked to offer student reference tools
  • Student Self-Evaluation allows monitoring of individual performance
  • Search Tools to search course files
  • Bulletin Boards asynchronous discussion threads on course content

How do I access my WebCT account?
WebCT can be accessed at http://webct.anglia.ac.uk/

You will need to log into this system using :-

  • Your Student Username: in the format i.e ABC123 (in CAPITALS) This is the same user name as when you visit the library and access the computers.
    • Password: Initially set to your student ID number - first 7 digits

What if I am unable to login?
If you encounter problems logging into your WebCT account or you have forgotten your password please follow the WebCT Online Troubleshooter or contact your University Library IT Help Desk, either by telphone, email, or in person

WebCT Printing
Follow these steps to help you.

  • Check Print Credit
  • Check Print Preview – You will receive error message:-
    The frame in this document cannot be printed in the way laid out.
  • Save a copy of your document to H:, memory stick or cdrom.
  • Go to that saved location
  • Open the document
  • File – print – Select the printer you require.
  • Collect your work
