Our vision is of a university community empowered by accessible, innovative and responsive library services, supported by an excellent range of high quality resources and committed staffMission
The University Library at Anglia Ruskin University supports our University’s academic aims and objectives by ensuring that its students and staff have seamless and timely access to a wide range of library services, excellent learning support and high quality information resources.
Aims
The University Library achieves this mission by:
- Selecting, acquiring, organising, managing and ensuring access to collections of print, digital and other information resources
- Guiding, supporting and assisting users in the use of information resources
- Helping students to develop the transferable information skills required in a knowledge intensive society
- Providing all users with access to library services, support and resources across a wide range of service hours both on and off campus
- Constantly seeking ways in which to innovate, improve and extend the range of services and resources offered by the library
- Providing well appointed, safe and supportive learning areas that are conducive to individual study and collaborative learning
- Participating in inter-lending, collaborative and reciprocal access schemes with other academic libraries
- Working in partnership with each Faculty and other parts of the University to ensure the best possible student learning experience
- Promoting the library’s role within our University and securing appropriate levels of funding
- Recruiting high calibre staff and ensuring they are supported in developing the skills to provide an excellent service in a complex and changing environment
